Head Coach- Mark Smith
Coach Smith has been coaching for 12 years and is in his 3rd year at Bell High School. In January of 2011 he was named Head Football Coach at L. D. Bell after serving two seasons as the schools Defensive Coordinator. Prior to L. D. Bell, Coach Smith served as Defensive Quality Control Coach at the University of Oklahoma where he won a Big 12 Championship and Coached in a BCS National Championship Game. Prior to Oklahoma, Coach Smith served as Defensive Coordinator at Irving MacArthur High School, and began his career as an assistant Coach at Colleyville Heritage High School. Coach Smith is married to Michelle and they have two children Makenna 7 and Micah 3.

Taylor Kaleikaimana Farden, Defensive Coordinator - Safeties
Coach Farden, a native of Honolulu, Hawaii, is in his seventh year of coaching, his fifth at L.D. Bell. He spent his first two years of coaching at Waco High School before coming to Bell. Coach Farden is a graduate of Baylor University and a graduate of Grapevine High School where he was a member of two state championship football teams. Coach Farden also teaches a personal finance course here at Bell. He is married to Lisa and they have two daughters, Maile Puamana and Nora Kalei.

Richard Leonard, Offensive Coordinator - Offensive Line
Coach Leonard will be entering his 12th year of coaching. He spent last season at Leander High as the Running Game Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach. Prior to that he was at Cedar Hill High School as the Offensive Coordinator, Assistant Head Coach, and Offensive Line Coach, where they won the 2006 5A Div 2 State Championship. Coach Leonard has also had coaching stints at Grand Prairie High, Pampa, and Del Rio. He has coached in 18 playoff games in the last 5 years. Coach Leonard will be teaching Health, P.E., and Biology. A graduate of Hardin-Simmons University, he has 2 children, 8 year old Reed and Ryanne who is 3.

J.D. Martinez, Receivers
Coach Martinez has 19 years of coaching experience as he enters his seventh year at L. D. Bell. He has coached several teams in the playoffs including Fossil Ridge High School in the 2001 State Semi-Final. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas and he teaches World History at Bell. His wife's name is Cyndi and their daughter Maddie is nine years old.

Dave Sammons, Linebackers
Coach Sammons has 35 years of coaching experience including coaching at Fossil Ridge High School and at Grapevine High School as they won their State Championships in 1996 and 1998. He was a member of the Coaching Staff of the Year in 1998. He is L. D. Bell's Head Coach for Powerlifting and he also teaches Health. His wife's name is Dorothy and they have twins, Kyle and Kristy and three grandchildren with a forth to be born during the 2011 season.

Mike Brewster, Defensive Line
Coach Brewster has 23 years of experience coaching in the HEBISD, including 8 years at Hurst Jr. High and 13 years at L.D. Bell. He has coached the Blue Raiders in the Playoffs in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2010. He also coaches Track and teaches World History. He was a four year letterman at McMurry University in Abilene. He and his wife Tricia, have two children, Ryan, 10, and Kyle, 6.

Roger Benefield, Offensive Line
Coach Benefield comes to us with 33 years of coaching experience. He has coached at Brewer, Weatherford, Grapevine, and Coppell High Schools. He helped to coach the Grapevine High School team to 2 State Football Championships and he also coached in the Oil Bowl in 2001. At L.D. Bell, his duties also include coaching Baseball and teaching Social Studies. What he enjoys most about coaching is just being on the field with the kids. Coach Benefield is a graduate of Baylor University and is married to Nancy. They have two children Lance, 28 and Brooke, 21.

Charles P. Bryant, III, Running Backs
Coach Bryant has 15 years of coaching experience and this will be his third at L. D. Bell. He has previously coached at high schools in Virginia and North Carolina, including being the head coach at Menchville High School. In North Carolina, he helped his team overcome a previous losing season to advance to the State Playoffs. Coach Bryant also teaches World History and U.S. History at L.D. Bell. He gained his B.A. in History and Political Science from Virginia Union University and his M.A. in Teaching from Norfolk State University. His wife Suzanne is a Nursing Professor at TCU and they have a son, Charles IV.

Nick Davidson, Defensive Ends
Coach Davidson, a native of Austin, moved to Bedford in 2002 where he played his senior season for the Blue Raiders at LD Bell High School. Coch Davidson attended Iowa State University recieving a full scholarship to play defensive line for the Cyclones. in 2005 Coach Davidson transfered to Lane College where he graduated cumlade majoring in Sociology. Coach Davidson is currently a Teacher Assistant in the HEB District, and entering his second season defensive ends coach for the LD Bell Blue Raiders.

Russell Reichenbach, Cornerbacks
Coach Reichenbach enters his 4th year coaching for the Blue Raiders. He will be coaching cornerbacks this year. Coach Reichenbach attended L.D. Bell and is glad to be back here now as a Coach. He also coaches baseball here at Bell. Coach Reichenbach is married to Shanda, and they have twin daughters, Reagan Grace and Ryan Elizabeth.

Nate Van Cleave, Quarterbacks
Coach Van Cleave enters his 10th year coaching and his 1st at L.D. Bell. He has spent time in Duncanville and Arlington prior to his arrival. He is graduate of Henderson State University. He teaches Social Studies and also coaches Boys Soccer. He is married to RyAnn and they have 2 sons; Brock, 6 and Braxton, 4.

Mike Stokic, Athletic Trainer
Mr. Stokic has 30 years of experience as an athletic trainer. He was Host Athletic Trainer for the 1994 World Cup and for the 2003 USA Figure Skating Championships. He also served as the Trainer for the 2006 High School All Star Baseball Game. At Bell, Mr. Stokic also teaches Health. His wife's name is Mary.

Kristin Bell, Athletic Trainer
Ms. Bell graduated from UT Arlington in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Prior to Bell HS, Ms. Bell worked at SporTherapy Physical Therapy Clinic as well as serving as Athletic Trainer for Southwest Christian School. Ms. Bell will teach Health.

Todd Campbell, Team Chaplain
Todd Campbell has just begun his first year as our Team Chaplain. He has been a pastor for over 20 years and is currently serving as the Pastor of Adult and Men’s Ministries at First Baptist Church of Hurst. Todd has been the Police Chaplain for the City of Bedford for 2 different terms and was the Fire Chaplain in Prosper, TX in between those terms. Prior to his time in Adult Ministry Todd served for over 10 years in Youth Ministry. He is a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX where he played golf on scholarship. He is married to Melissa and they have two children Noah 11 and Emma 8.
